Today, we delved with our newcomers from all over the world into the Old Town of Warsaw. We can’t wait to share the highlights of the day with the rest of our students.
In the afternoon, we wandered around the colourful tenement houses and narrow cobbled streets of the Old Town. The highlight of the day was the iconic Barbican, a semi-circular fortified outpost. It’s hard to believe that this 16th-century fortress, destroyed during the World War II, was meticulously rebuilt from scratch, just like the whole Old Town, in the 1950s, based on 17th-century engravings and pre-war photographs.
As we strolled around, we stumbled upon the most enchanting fountains. The sound of flowing water was so soothing, and the intricate designs of the fountains added a touch of elegance to the entire atmosphere.
We hope that everyone enjoyed our first day of „Discover Warsaw” and we look forward to see you all tomorrow.
