Poland and Warsaw News in English

The number of websites on which there is news is constantly increasing. Sometimes, it is difficult for a reader to understand whether a publication can be trusted. However, you can pay attention to the following points to be sure that the website can be trustful:

  • The news feed – the title and the first paragraph. They must match the meaning.
  • The intonation – good news is written unemotionally and does not contain aggressive vocabulary.
  • Reference- look at what the publication you are reading refers to. Official materials, links to Federal media or news agencies can serve as a good guide, but a link to an „anonymous source” should alert you.
  • Direct speech-  It is one thing if they are participants in the events; another person who has nothing to do with the essence of the news.
  • One-sided feed- See if all sides of the conflict are represented in the news. Even if one side did not have time to comment on the news, it will be clear from a good news item that this second side exists.

It’s hard to remember everything. Is there one basic piece of advice? There are! When you read news in any publication, always doubt what is written. Doubt is the best way not to be fooled. If you find it suspicious how the news is written in one place, read in another and a third; pay attention to what they emphasize. Take a look at Google News and see if the story has spread widely — and if the media you trust is writing about it. Below are several sites where you can read news from Poland and Warsaw.
